Purpose: The Administrator will work 20 hours per week with a flexible schedule as required to fulfill the responsibilities. The Administrator works with all levels of church management, staff, volunteers, members of the congregation and third party vendors.


Requirements:

  • Be a committed Christian and a regular participant in a Christian church.

  • Leadership and organization skills

  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of strategic planning, budgeting and financial analysis.

  • Able to properly handle confidential information in a careful and secure manner.

  • A caring attitude, excellent people skills, a positive attitude and cheerful disposition

  • Flexible and able to handle the changing administrative and facility needs of the Church.

  • Managerial, administrative and communication skills; able to coordinate and delegate various responsibilities.

  • Computer proficient and comfortable with technology; Microsoft Office skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Able to foster effective communication in church organization

  • Competent in the management and operation of computer systems, including word processing, electronic communication software, membership software, event planning,


Job Responsibilities

  1. Ensure appropriate and accurate accounting and membership records are maintained. Work with the Management Committee to develop and prepare the church budget.

  2. Coordinate and monitor purchasing of equipment, furniture, supplies and other items.

  3. Help develop ongoing stewardship and development programs.

  4. Research new business procedures, computer techniques, financial programs and salaries.

  5. Research, evaluate and advise Rector and vestry on financial commitments and contracts.

  6. Ensure that appropriate and adequate insurance coverages are in place.

  7. Anticipate and plan for future facilities development, based on projected space needs and program plans.

  8. Coordinate with appropriate committees, contractors and architects, as needed, to facilitate renovation or relocation of facilities. Coordinate relationship with the landlord.

  9. Oversee property management and repairs.

  10. Work with Management Committee to develop and implement the church's personnel policies and procedures.

  11. Oversee the work of the Administration Department by encouraging teamwork and mutual support and providing leadership and nurture to staff members.

  12. Attend vestry meetings as a resource and for informational purposes as requested.
